A very rare sword officer’s 1796 heavy cavalry disc hilt sword. Regulation hilt but with an engraved hatchet point blade which includes WARWICKSHIRE YEOMANRY pre 1801 Royal coat of arms and GR and trophies of arms. It is complete with steel scabbard stamped Osborn and Co Birmingham. Colour etchings by Richard Lawrence illustrate officer’s and privates of the four troops engaged in sword practice using 1796 disc hilt which are clearly visible.
