Super example of a Scottish Officer’s 1798 Pat Broad Sword by Fraser London, brass basket hilted sword introduced to the Scottish Highland regiments in 1798 and only replaced by the regulation 1828 pattern sword so this pattern of sword was used throughout the Napoleonic War period. The brass basket fitted with wire bound fish skin grip and dome pommel. Straight double edged blade with short central fuller and complete with black leather tooled scabbard with brass mounts the top one engraved with makers name D Fraser London – Overall length 97cm blade 82cm
