Swept Hilt Rapier Circa 1640


Swept Hilt Rapier Circa 1640 the pommel cylindrical form widening towards the base, the grip braided with turks head finials. The knuckle guard in ring form the smallest one fitted with a pierced plate. Four section curved bars forming the rear guard which show an age repair at the central joint please see images. The Long double-edged blade with small, short fuller is engraved with the Passau Wolf to one side, for reference please see item 11 in Rapiers by Eric Valentine. Overall length 135cm the blade 118cm
