Scottish Basket Hilt Sword c 1740

Scottish Basket Hilt Sword c 1740 with possibly associated blade and pommel because of the hilt show age corrosion which is not replicated on the blade or pommel. It has a very unusually basket as the bars incorporate snake heads, we have been told the design may related to The Earl of Stairs but have been unable to confirm this. The hilt is strong no damage just age wear with leather grip and bun pommel. The blade single edged with small top fuller which has either been heavily cleaned or replaced but have to say seems to be more c 1780 in design
Overall length 101cm the blade 85cm
