French Naval Officer’s Sword c1800


c 1800 French Naval officer’s sword, the hilt it very similar to French Hussars officer’s c 1795 with anchor to the langet. Ebony fluted grip with curved single edged blade no visible markings.The scabbard is polished steel with brass throat and mounts with two loose rings. Plate 99 detailed in Swords for the Sea Service is a French Light Cavalry Type Naval c 1800 also Des Sabres Et Des Epee’s page 142 No 132 and 133 tome Premier possibly produced for French Marine Officer’s Overall length 39 inches the blade 34 inches
