Other ranks 1st foot guards mitre cap with white metal front plate elaborately decorated with grenades and trophies of arms. At the top of the plate is a large crown and in the center the eagle of Frederick The Great with a ribbon above the eagle bearing the motto Semper talis. Around the base of the cloth portion od the cap is a wide metal band with matching decoration to the mitre plate. The cloth is red with 3 white lines and is in very good condition. It is complete with chin strap and leather liner plus storage case with cover with name badge to the rear. The 1st guard regiment of foot was the most elite regiment in the Imperial German Army sometimes known as The First Regiment.
