Georgian Sergeant’s Spontoon

Georgian Sergeant’s Spontoon 30.5cm head with double edged blade over cross bar with pointed terminals, all of which unscrew from the top shaft fitting. The wood shaft is 177cm in length and complete with pointed steel shoe. Sergeant’s Spontoon were carried by a Sergeant in the British Army as a weapon of defence, and a symbol of discipline and authority.
