French Artillerie de Marine Sidearm c 1792 – 90

Brass hilt in the form of extended neck & head of a Sea Lion, with lanyard hole and blade tang securing slots, brass shallow ‘S’  shaped crossguard.  Steel swollen double edged blade with indistinct inspection mark at forte.(De Cabannes. Klingenthal) Length 621mm  Blade 485mm.
