A fine and rare silvered Officer’s example. To the front, a regimental pattern helmet plate bearing the Thane of Fife on horseback wearing full armour set against a gilt brass ribbed satire. This in turn mounted onto a four pointed silvered star, the uppermost displaced by a crown. A tri part scroll is with motto and to the centre FLH in gilt metal. Two rose head bosses support a silvered interlinked chin chain, with leather backing. A silvered spike supports a white horsehair plume, with silvered rose boss. The interior is with leather lining. Near VGC. The helmet and plume are contained in original steel storage tins. Accompanied by an old luggage label with printed name “Hutchison”. sold with some research
