German Wurttemberg Infantry Hanger C 1850 -115

This hanger usually is all brass mounted, but this one has a one piece ribbed grip and pommel plus crossguard all in iron.  The crossguard is marked 125.R.3.136 as is the frog stud. This equates to 125th Regiment, 3rd company weapon 136. which superseded the 7th Wurttemberg Infantry regiment in 1871.  Steel, slightly curved single edged blade with false edge at tip.
Numbered 5361 at ricasso on one side and with a ‘B’ on the other. The crossguard is also numbered 5361.  The black leather scabbard has an iron locket and the chape is over-sown with black leather ending in a ball tip. Length 607mm   Blade 467mm.
