Cavalry Officer’s Sword Variation 1887 pattern honey suckle hilt with chequered back strap and pommel, fish skin grip bounded with three silver wires. The 1912 straight flat back blade single fuller and spear point. Acid etched with scrolls crown over Royal crest and GVR plus owner monogram O R with Wilkinson Sword proof mark and number 54687 complete with 1912 leather service scabbard with nickel mouth. Notes: Only three of this pattern of sword known numbers 42063 and 42064 were rebladed with 1912 blades but retained the original numbers on the new blades however this sword was produced to this pattern but the owners name is not recorded in the register.
