Victorian 1831 VRI General Officer’s Mameluke Sword by Manton & Co Calcutta, Circa 1875 of regulation pattern, the blade etched over both sides with crowned VRI cypher, crossed sword and baton between foliage, and scrolling foliage, the forte on one side with retailer’s details, and brass-mounted hilt with bone grip-scales one repaired, in its original brass scabbard with suspension rings, Manton & Co. are recorded at 70 Bentinck Street, Calcutta between 1872 and 1877 – Submission reference PBAQPMMU
