Belonging to Col Maxwell Witham C M G – Large Victorian period field officer’s regulation hilt with super engraved and pieced decoration with chequered pommel and wire bound fish skin grip. The broad sword blade is double edged and engraved with family crest and Royal Scots Fusiliers and flaming grenade. The reverse with Royal Crown VR and regimental badge pluse maker marked E Thurkle Soho London. Complete with steel scabbard – Length 102cm – blade 86cm
