Royal Horse Guards Cased Officer’s Helmet by Hawkes


Royal Horse Guards officer sin its named tin, helmet plate/badge with enamel. Named to Eion James Henry Merry – went on to become Lieutenant-Colonel M.C., playing quite a part in the Second World War out in Palestine and the Western Desert. Regulation Kings crown helmet the silver skull with tarnish but would clean, age scuffs and contact marks but no damage. Complete with cover, horse hair plume and transit tin maker marked Hawkes and named to J H Merry Esq Royal Horse Guards. Sold with extensive research including images of him holding the helmet in full dress uniforn when first commissioned. Note replacement liner.
