British 1855 Shako 82nd Regiment


Excellent condition retains good shape and is solid no moth or repairs, with black-patented leather peaks both front and back and white over red pom in gilt holder. Beaver over card body with leather top and regimental gilt badge to center with VR crown and 82 surrounded by motto. Complete with leather chin strap, sweat band and silk linning which does sho age wear.Notes: The 82nd Regiment of Foot (Prince of Wales’s Volunteers) was an infantry regiment of the British Army, raised in 1793. Under the Childers Reforms it amalgamated with the 40th Regiment of Foot to form the Prince of Wales’s Volunteers in 1881
