Italian Cup Hilt Rapier c 1630

Italian Cup Hilt Rapier c 1630 with double edged tapering blade with short fuller on each side engraved with inscription. Steel hilt comprising deep cup guard formed as a flower with eight lobed petals each formed of a finely pierced plate, a pair of straight quillons which reduce towards the centre. The grip we steel studs and wrapped with decorative steel bands, round engraved pommel with tang button. Overall length 112cm the blade 94cm a fine sword in very good condition
