French 1794 E’cole de Mars Glaive – 96


Brass finely scaled grip, rectangular crossguard and oval pommel plus one down swept steel arm with brass ovoid finials and one upswept steel arm. Trapezoid shaped plate under crossguard with a raised Phrygian cap of liberty motifs. Steel double edged blade with spear point. Scabbard with brass framework at sides, crosspiece supporting hanging rings, one on each side. The lower part of the scabbard has a decorative raised panel and below this a semicircular decorative panel. The main body of the scabbard is of red material over wood. Length 632mm Blade 490mm
