Culloden Fencibles Basket Hilt Sword C 1794

A rare basket-hilted sword for an officer of the Culloden Fencibles, 1794 circa. Wide edged blade with wide fuller and engraved with Culloden. Basket-shaped hilt with flattened bars and consisting of two halves, the central part featuring the Regimental coat of arms with motto, hemispherical pommel with pierced button, wooden hilt with fish-skin covering.
