Breadalbane Fencibles Basket Hilt Sword C 1794

A rare basket-hilted sword for an officer of the 116th Rgt. Breadalbane Fencibles, 1794 circa. Wide edged blade with wide fuller. Basket-shaped hilt with flattened bars and consisting of two halves, the central part featuring the Regimental coat of arms with motto, hemispherical pommel with pierced button, wooden hilt with fish-skin covering. Complete with black leather scabbard with steel mounts
