Victorian Royal Engineers Forage Cap in excellent condition with regimental lace and gold braid to peak. The internal with silk liner and maker details Cater and Co London V R and crown plus name label Broke, Harry Broke became a Lieutenant in July 1883, was promoted to Captain in November 1891, and subsequently became a Major and attained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. He later served in the South African War. Complete with leather sweat band and chin strap sold with some research.
