Victorian Scottish H L I Field Officer’s Sword

Victorian Scottish Highland Light Infantry Officer’s Sword retailed by Leckie Graham & Co Glasgow. The removable steel basket is pierced with thistle design and regimental badge and complete with liner and fringe. The broadsword blade is nicely engraved with V R and crown to one side the reverse with regimental devices and floral designs. This form of hilt started being used by Field Officer’s as early as 1840s and by 1914 they had become regularised. It is complete with steel scabbard with two loose rings.
