Life Guards Edwardian Officer’s Sword by Wilkinson Sword
43” overall, 37” straight spear pointed blade etched with Second Life Guards regimental badge and battle honours, the other side with crowned ‘E.R’, scrolling foliage and Wilkinson Pall Mall London number 39458 on spine. 12 stud bowl guard with regimental badge, chequered brass pommel, chequered back strap and fish skin grip with triple twisted wire. In its regulation brass mounted steel scabbard. Sword in good condition, very good blade nickel plated sold on June 17th 1902, and is recorded as being a Life Guards pattern, nickel plated, and sold with an extra scabbard. It was sold to H.J.C.A. Cradock of the 2nd Life Guards Notes 3rd Battalion Bedfordshire Regiment 15th February 1899 Second Lieutenant 2nd Life Guards 16th December 1903, Lieutenant 24th February 1905, Captain 6th March 1909, Captain and Adjutant Lothians and Border Horse 24th May 1912, Major Royal Fusiliers and later Lieutenant Colonel.
