Naval 19th Century Bug Bear or Powder Flask

Naval 19th Century Bug Bear or Powder Flask carved in relief with sailing ship, fouled anchor, elephant palm trees and floral designs. The powder flask bug bear dating early 19th century, a coconut carved by sailors or soldiers who visited the British Colonials this example marked Ceylon. The bug bears were carved from green coconut shells which were easier to carve than dried. In nice condition no cracks and good age patina.
