Inniskilling Dragoons 1871 Pattern Officer’s Helmet

Officer’s Inniskilling Dragoons 1871 pattern white metal helmet with gilt decoration and a white horse hair plume. Silver plated skull with a band of laurel leaves to the front in gilt and edged with gilt trim edging. Above this sits a twelve pointed gilt hob nail star and a oval title strap with the words Inniskilling Dragoons and VR to centre. The gilt spike with a white horse hair plume with a rose boss ornament. Rose pattern ear bosses which secure leather backed chin chain. The helmet in very good condition and the silver has slightly darkened complete with leather sweat band and remains of silk liner.
