Household Cavalry Trooper Brass Disk Hilt Sword c1800 know to have been in use between 1796 and 1821 Large shallow disk bowl with triangular shaped piercings and knucklebow the grip would have been leather bound but just the ribbed wooden grip remains but in good condition. The blade is a standard 1796 heavy cavalry one with inspection – issue stamp and is complete with matching brass scabbard blade length 35.25 inches overall 41 inches for reference please see The British Cavalry Sword 1788 – 1912 by Richard Dellar page 182 – 184
