British 1832 pattern 2nd Life Guards Officer’s dress sword in original condition. Regulation elaborately decorated brass hilt and scrolled hilt bars. The blade has faint etching a Tudor Rose, crowns, floral designs makers details HAMBURGER & adgers; CO. 30 KING ST. COVENT GARDEN. LONDON. Heavily influenced by contemporary French military swords, these swords were only carried by officers of this elite British Army regiment and very few were ever produced with a very small number surviving.
