Highland Regiments 1857 Drummers Sword with broad pipe-backed blade etched with a maker’s panel Dudley of Portsmouth and sharpened for use, Steel basket hilt composed of flattened rounded bars united by heart-pierced junction plates, fluted domed pommel, wire bound fishskin grip note damage towards pommel, contained in its steel mounted leather scabbard with frog and 2 loose rings. Note: these swords were reissued in 1871 to Staff Sergeants of Highland Milita and volunteers
