1796 light cavalry officer’s blue and gilt sword but of heavier construction. Teel stirrup hilt with rare sword knot slit to one side. Domed pommel and leather grip bound with silver wire. The blade curved flat back single edged expect for the last 4 inches. Single broad fuller to within 6 inches of the hatchet point. The blue and gilt decoration in good condition with trophies of arms GR mounted Hussar and seated Britannia. Complete with steel scabbard of similar heavy construction and officer dress sword knot
