Dutch Walloon sword Amsterdam Town Mark


Second half 17th century straight 92 cm double edged blade bearing the running wolf mark on both sides, the fullers marked Sahagom on both sides. Above the hilt the Amsterdam town mark. Iron hilt comprising down curving quillon with large button finial, guard plates pierced with small circular and larger star-shaped holes, thumb ring, shaped pommel. Grip retaining the original wrapping of plaited and twisted iron wire with iron wire turk’s heads
