.577 2 band percussion rifle by F. A. Braendlin London circa 1863-5. The Mont Storm hinged breech was patented by Mont Storm in England in 1860. This breech loading conversion system was redesigned by Francis Augustus Braendlin in 1863-5 while he was the manager of the Mont Storm gun works. The two inch chamber is marked on the underside with 129 above and below a proof mark and on the top with ‘Mont Storm patent’. The number 129 is also marked on the breech tang, butt plate, fore- cap and the bayonet lug (bar on barrel) The barrel has regulation sights to 1000yds and is marked with EBL within a small shield.
