Cavalry Presentation Sword with plated steel 3 bar hilt back strap and stepped pommel with fish skin grip secured by silver wire. The blade is super condition acid edged with stands of arms foliage V R and crown plus presentation inscription which reads PRESENTED TO PRIVATE CHAS SELLERS BY COL THE EARL FITZWILLIM AND THE OFFICERS OF THE 1ST W.Y.Y.C AS BEST SWORDSMAN IN CAPT BAGSHAWE’S (DOR BARNSDALE) TROOP DONCASTER MAY 9TH 1872. It is also maker marked Reeves Birmingham and is complete with matching scabbard the sword is in super condition.
