.577 Snider Mk 3 ordnance issue Cavalry Carbine. Lock with correct flat faced hammer and marked ‘Enfield’ 1869 and crowned ‘V.R’ to tail. Walnut stock with regulation brass furniture including butt trap with two piece cleaning rod. Butt plate tang marked W.D plus V over IWWC 62. Butt marked 2C over B.2.81 and 1881. WD proofed barrel, stamped ‘Steel’ and is fitted with a locking Mk 3 Shoe and breach block. Ladder rear sights marked to 600 yards, barrel band and screw heads all with W.D markings.
