British 1796 WYC Heavy Cavalry Troopers Sword


British 1796 Heavy Cavalry Troopers Sword by Dawes. The hilt conforms to the regulations of the time with diamond shaped reinforcing pieces to the inner face and circular holes around rim, regimentally marked WYC M 53. Steel back strap and leather bound ribbed grip, the sword retains is langets. The blade straight with spear point and is marked with 4 below crown, the spin stamped DAWES Birm steel scabbard with two loose rings plus again WYC but F 41.
