British 1788 – 1796 Light Cavalry Officer’s Sword. Regulation 1796 hilt with fish skin grip area’s missing please see images. The blade curved one broad and one narrow fuller to within 9 inches of the hatchet point. The blade engraved with Sun, Moon and Star plus mounted Hussar with J J R Solingen to the spine. A hybrid between the 1788 blade and 1796 light cavalry hilt note repair to back strap
