West Minster Rifles Presentation Hallmarked Silver Bugle by Hawkes and Sons London. Hallmarked silver with the following presentation, PRESENTED BY THE WEST MINSTER RIFLES TO GEN E S COKE CMG DSO AS A TOKEN OF ADMIRATION AND ESTEEM 1916 – 1919. The condition is good couple of age small dents please see images and although the presentation lettering a little worn in the odd place but still visible. Brigadier Edward Sacheverell D’Ewes Coke: CMG 1915, DSO 1918; eldest son of Maj-Gen John Talbot Coke, of Trusley, Derbyshire. Born 3 Dec 1872, married 1905 Helen Maud, youngest daughter of John A’Deane; Commissioned 1894. Capt 1901, Major, 1913, Brevet Lt Col 1916, Temp Brig General 1916 commanding 169th (3rd London) Brigade from 5th February until end of war. MID 7 times.Served with the Chitral Force 1895, severely wounded at Malakand Pass; NW Frontier of India 1897; Tirah Expeditionary Force 1897-8 as brigade signalling officer. Lt-Colonel, Kings Own Scottish Borderers 1919-20. Colonel 1920. Commanding Ist London Infantry Brigade (TA) 1920-22. Retired 1922 with rank of Brig-General. Chevalier Legion D’ Hon.
