Swiss 1875 Pioneer’s Side Arm and Bayonet 1889/92 Pattern – 42

By Gerbrueder Weyersberg Solingen.  Black chequered grips secured by 5 brass rivets brass pommel and crossguard.  Steel sawbacked blade with fuller on one side of blade only, marked with makers mark and Swiss cross on one ricasso and serial no 1129 and date year 1980 on the other in its brass mounted leather scabbard. Loa 647mm blade 504mm.  Joined with a Schmidt Rubin cruciform all steel blade marked on M.R bracket with serial no 112382, flat of mortise with a ‘B’ Length 508mm blade from below M.R mount 389mm.   Both mounted on the same first pattern black leather frog.  The bayo having its own separate tubular black leather scabbard with a circular steel pin at its base
