Scottish Steel Hilted 1798 Basket Sword

Scottish Steel Hilted 1798 Basket Sword, regulation military hilt with leather grip, dome pommel and red liner. The broadsword blade of military form, German made and marked A.&A.S – August and Albert Scvhnitzler Solingen working between 1811 to 1864 in good condition double edged with small single fuller. It is complete with leather scabbard with decorative steel mount the tp one being fitted with long frog hook possibly indicating the sword was made as a civilian dress sword rather than military use. Overall length 94cm the blade 80cm
