Royal Scots Fusiliers Victorian 21st Foot Officer’s Sword

Royal Scots Fusiliers 21st Foot Officer’s Sword the hilt with regimental device, the number 21and the regimental motto, Nemo meimune lacessit. The grip is fish skin and bound with brass twist wire with stepped pommel. The blade is pipe backed engraved with scrolls VR and crown within a panel on each side. It is complete with matching black leather scabbard with matching mounts. This is a very early form of this rare regimental sword and is very similar to a infantry officer’s pattern 1822 the later swords of this type and thistle decoration to the back strap and pommel and were fitted with the later infantry blade.
