Papal Chamberlains Sword and Scabbard late 18th early 19th century, steel hilt of excellent quality with ebony grip inlaid with chiselled iron plates to both sides, complete with shell pommel and cross guard with acorn quillons. The blade with small central fuller with maker stamps, overall length 92 cm the blade 74cm complete with black leather scabbard with matching mounts note frog stud missing: Papal Chamberlains, basically Chamberlain of the Sword and Cape were appointed from the nobility and high-ranking clergy.
