Papal Chamberlains 18th Century Sword steel hilt of excellent quality with ebony grip inlaid with chiseled iron plates to both sides, complete with shell pommel and cross guard with acorn quillons. The blade much earlier 17th century marked with running wolf of Solingen and Passau, couple edged with central fuller, overall length 97 cm the blade 80cm: Papal Chamberlains, basically Chamberlain of the Sword and Cape were appointed from the nobility and high ranking clergy.
