Naval 18th Century Bug Bear or Powder Flask carved in relief with sailing ship, anchor, naval Britannia flag being held by female figure, buildings and romantic scene plus rope design. The powder flask bug bear dating to the late 18th century circa 1790. A coconut carved by sailors or soldiers who visited the East or West Indies in the late 18th to the early 19th centuries. The bug bears were carved from green coconut shells which were easier to carve than dried. In super condition no cracks and good age patina.
