Life Guards Officer’s Full Dress Sword belonging to Joseph John Lakehurst Peyton 1819 – 1844, 89.75cm plain fullered blade, modified regulation copper gilt hilt with wire bound grip, contained in its copper gilt mounted black leather scabbard, the upper mount bearing maker’s tablet and engraved with owners entwined initials in script. Scabbard leather restored. Joseph John Wakehurst Peyton (1819-1844) 2nd Life Guards: Coronet and Sub-Lieutenant (by purchase) 28th April 1836, Lieutenant by Purchase 8th June 1838.
