French Naval Cutlass Dated 1797

French Naval Cutlass Dated 1797 solid gilt brass knuckle and cross guard with large central curved guard to form additional protection with raised anchor. Polished fluted ebony grip, curved matching back strap forming the pommel with raised button tang. The curved falchion blade is in good condition and contained in black leather scabbard with gilt brass mounts the drag with inspection mark as is the base of the cross guard.
