American Confederate Model of 1840 Cavalry Sword

American Confederate Model of 1840 Cavalry Sword know as the Wrist breaker. No marking on sword or scabbard however a paper label is attached to the scabbard now in two parts stating the following: Surrendered by a officer and gentleman of the Southern Army??? 27th April 1865 May the Lord have mercy on him and his ??? please see images. This is a regulation sword iron hilt, original grip, curved single edged blade and matching scabbard, totally undamaged with a nice honest patina. Please note there is no way of confirming the detail on the label however the wording and age is very compelling.
