British 1796 Heavy Cavalry Troopers Sword by Gill. The hilt confirms to the regulations of the time with diamond shaped reinforcing pieces to the inner face and circular holes around rim. The back strap is engraved with A with 38 or 3B below and the sword retains is langets. The blade straight with spear point and is marked with 11 below crown the spin stamped GILL. It is complete with original scabbard, note throat screws missing and one ring.
