British 1796 Heavy Cavalry Troopers Sword by Dawes. The hilt confirms to the regulations of the time with diamond shaped reinforcing pieces to the inner face and circular holes around rim. Steel back strap and leather bound ribbed grip, the sword retains is langets. The blade straight with hatchet point and is marked with 3 below crown, the spin stamped DAWES and numbered RB23 N30 which is repeated on the steel scabbard with two loose rings plus makers details Osborn and Gunny.
