1796 British Officer’s Sword offset steel D guard with square quillons and half round langets. Plain pommel and backstrap complete with leather grip with three steel wires.
Very curved flat back blade no fullers and double edged for the last 8 inches. Blue and gilt decoration which includes Britannia, foliage, stands of arms and royal cypher GR The coat of arms for 1801 – 1806 and maker marked THOMPSON BIRMINGHAM – William Thomson Coleshill Street Birmingham 1803 – 1821 complete with steel scabbard two loose rings
