British Officers Full Dress Wolseley Helmet 1st The Queen’s Bays or 2nd Dragoon Guards
In very good condition slight age discolour with regimental badge and spike. Solid helmet no damage maker marked Gieves and complete with silk and leather liner plus chin strap. Complete with transit tin named to Lieut G H Fanshawe 19th Hussars. Notes: He was commissioned into the 19th Hussars in 1916. He later transferred to the 1st The Queen’s Bays 2nd Dragoon Guards, where he excelled at polo and became part of the historic team that won the inter-regimental polo tournament in 1931. World War II Command: Promoted to Lieutenant Colonel, he took command of the Queen’s Bays on 2 November 1939 and led the regiment to France in May 1940
