Lothians and Berwickshire Yeomanry Cavalry Victorian 1871 pattern helmet. A good scarce example Silvered skull decorated with brass thistles; to the front a helmet plate comprising a crowned Garter within thistle sprays; to the centre, the Order of the Thistle Star with central VR Cypher; all resting on thistle spray bearing four part title scroll. Brass fluted spike supports a white regimental pattern horsehair plume. To each side, a brass rose head boss supports the leather backed brass chin chain. Brown leather lining shows age wear and Maker label Cater and Co London, surface marks to skull
