Victorian British Officers Sword, regulation hilt 3 bard with stepped pommel and fish skin grip wire bound. The blade engraved with V R crown and floral decoration plus owners initials P T D C – Philip Tatton Davies-Cooke gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 1st West Yorkshire Calvary. He was promoted to Major in the Denbighshire Hussars Yeomanry, held the office of Vice Lord Lieutenant for Flintshire and also held the Office of Justice of the Peace for Flintshire and office of High Sheriff of Flintshire in 1915 and was appointed Officer Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 1920 Complete with field service scabbard and knot obtained via the Gwysaney estate
